I’ve lived in a number of different countries and seen how they do, or do not, celebrate Christmas, and I thought I would explain what happens in England.

When I was a boy, my mother cooked ‘English breakfast’ for our family of five, every morning except Sunday. It has remained one of my favourite meals, both to eat and to cook.

A traditional British cup of tea is made in a teapot, usually made of china, but stainless steel or silver are alternatives. Most families have a number of pots, at La Selve, we have three; a small one for one or two people, a medium one, and a large one for the family and visitors.
